Cryovac® Tough Patch Bag Helps Reduce Back Room Leakers

Tests Show Leaker Rates Reduced by as Much as One-half

DUNCAN, S.C. (April 21, 2003) - Sealed Air a worldwide leader in fresh food packaging has introduced the Cryovac® Tough Patch Bag designed to reduce the number of leakers for beef and pork subprimals arriving in the supermarkets. The bag is a significant improvement over ordinary boneguard bags because it provides greater protection wherever a patch is located.

Market tests have shown leaker rates lowered by as much as 30 percent to 50 percent throughout the distribution cycle, helping retail meat cutters realize improved back room yields. The vacuum shrink bag also provides the best possible method to extend shelf life until the product is ready to be cut and displayed.

Available with a clear or opaque patch, the Tough Patch Bag is the ideal package for multi-pack pork and beef ribs, bone-in pork loins, beef short loins and bone-in beef chucks.
