Expanding on its presence in the poultry business, the company introduced Cryovac® Super L Bag in the late 1960s. This bag was the first multi-layered shrink bag for turkeys. It provided a tighter, smoother package that increased consumer appeal, and its toughness helped it survive abuses during shipping and handling.
In 1970, we pioneered the concept of flexible packaging systems for fresh foods, creating the first high-strength oxygen-barrier bags. These bags are used for vacuum packaging perishables along with extending the distribution and merchandising life of meats, poultry, cheeses, and many other foods.
