DRAFT CEN NORM ON "HYGIENE OF PACKAGING FOR FOODSTUFFS" NOW AVAILABLE
The draft CEN norm on “Packaging - Management of Hygiene in the Production of Packaging for Foodstuffs” has been submitted to technical inquiry as prEN 15593.
The document was examined by the CEN Member States until 5th March 2007.
The final norm will likely be published in the 4th quarter of 2007.
The norm represents the first example of an independent standard document covering all aspects of hygiene management in the Food Packaging production.
It is aimed at providing an harmonized tool for implementation of hygiene management systems that is widely accepted in all EU Countries, to facilitate free movement of packaging materials and packaged food and fostering a consistent products’ safety & hygiene service amongst producers of food packaging.
